DRILL PLATOON

     The SHS MCJROTC Drill Platoon is a unit that participates in competitions revolving around military precision drill (marching) movements.  Competitions are judged on appearance, bearing, confidence, precision, and creativity.  Drill categories include Uniform Personnel Inspections, Color Guards, Armed & Unarmed Regulation Drill as well as Armed & Unarmed Exhibition Drill sequences.  The Selma High School Drill Platoon has been recognized as one of the top Drill Platoons in the Central Valley.  In 2017, out of the 261 Marine Corps programs in the Nation, the SHS Drill Platoon was 1 of the 15 programs that were selected to compete in the first Annual United States Marine Corps JROTC National Drill Meet held in Dallas, TX.  In 2020, the SHS Drill Platoon was selected for a second time to compete in the National Drill meet which would've been held in Daytona Beach, FL before being cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
